Dental Implants in
Woodbridge
At Potomac Family Dental, our dentist has more than two decades of experience, including in dental implant placement. If you’re missing a single tooth or several, you couldn’t be in better hands than Dr. Uthman’s. In as few as two visits to our Woodbridge practice, you could be enjoying a brand new, fully restored smile with dental implants!
What Are Dental Implants? Do They Hurt?
After ensuring your ultimate comfort, a titanium post, or “tooth root,” is surgically placed inside your jaw bone. Most people say it’s easier than having a tooth pulled. Due to its unique nature, titanium will fuse to your bone over time and trigger new bone development, creating a stronger support for your implant and any adjacent teeth. After recovering from your procedure, a new crown, bridge or denture can be securely anchored to the implants.
Hybridge and All-On-4
With as few as four dental implants, your customized denture can be securely anchored for wiggle-free wear. We offer two popular options for full arch or full mouth dental restorations, including All-On-4 and Hybridge. Both are permanent, removable only by your dentist.
Not only do our customized dentures replace your missing teeth, they’re also crafted to restore the appearance of your gumline as well. Which option works best for your smile? Our experienced dental implant team will be happy help you design a custom restoration plan that fits your individual needs best.
Snap-On Overdentures
If you’re looking for a more economical mid-step to permanent, implant-supported dentures, we also offer removable prosthetics. These appliances are still supported by your new artificial “tooth roots,” but they click into place and are easily taken out for cleaning. It’s an affordable alternative for people who can no longer endure wearing a traditional denture.
Am I A Good Candidate For Implants?
3D graphic of dental implants and how they fit into the mouth with original teeth. Some patients have inadequate bone structure to support a dental implant, due to periodontal disease, tooth loss, or genetics. One of the first steps we take at Potomac Family Dental is to create a 3D image of your dental features and structure with our advanced CT scanner. This allows us to determine whether you have sufficient structure to proceed with your restoration surgery. It also offers better treatment planning for precise implant placement and improved recovery from your surgery.
For patients suffering from bone loss or inadequate material, we offer in-house sinus lift therapy to make dental implant placement possible. With a simple surgical procedure, additional bone material is added, lifting your drooping sinus membrane and creating the ideal support for your artificial “tooth roots.”
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Patients love post-supported restorations for a number of reasons. Many come to us after years of periodontal disease, which has finally resulted in significant loose teeth. Others have undergone numerous root canals, broken fillings, and are tired of over-patching their compromised teeth. Often times, dental implants provide a hassle-free, cost efficient alternative to continued endodontic therapies and tooth maintenance.
