Virginia Cardinal Care Smiles Program | Smiles for Children

Potomac Family Dental participates in Virginia’s Medicaid CardinalCare Smiles program, which offers comprehensive dental service to children under age 21. We proudly accept this coverage so your family can get regular and comprehensive dental care at a price you can afford. Patients who are residents in Virginia will be able to use Medicaid at our office.

Overview of Virginia’s Medicaid CardinalCare Smiles Program

Smiles For Children is Virginia’s dental program for Medicaid, FAMIS, or FAMIS Plus. Members enrolled in Smiles For Children, 20 years of age and younger, receive comprehensive dental benefits. Comprehensive dental benefits are also provided to adult pregnant members enrolled in Medicaid and FAMIS MOMS, and Medicaid members over age 21.

The Smiles For Children program has no costs for covered dental care services. Smiles For Children is a program provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and is run by DentaQuest.

 

We Accept Virginia Adult Medicaid Dental Patients

Effective July 1, 2021 adults participating in Medicaid in Virginia started receiving comprehensive dental benefits. For questions regarding your dental insurance benefits under this program, please call our office.
